Beggar's Ruin
Known to the dragons of Ir'resthel as ‘Bolog-Liiv’, Beggar's Ruin is a large, fortified city deep in the deserts of Ir'resthel's western reach. Built upon a remote oasis surrounding a natural spring, the city's seed was as a simple oasis stop on a trade route between the major coastal of Trail's End** and the northwestern forest cities.
The city has since grown into a center for trade and commerce for both mundane goods and rare, highly coveted, magical, and often-illegal things. Its primary source of wealth however comes from their money-changers, whose skills of negotiation with The Travelers convinces the dragons to exchange silver for gold at a deep discount, the former of which the dragons greatly covet due to their belief in The Cycle, and the latter of which the dragons have little interest in due to the same belief.
This sprawling desert city is woefully inhospitable to those of lesser means, hence its name.
