Dragonkin

Dragonkin are the bipedal offspring of Travelers and the lesser tribes. The blend can happen through breeding between a Traveler and a member of the lesser tribes, or from a member of the lesser tribes exhibiting great devotion and pledging themselves to serve their patron dragon's cause. For those who have sworn an oath to a Traveler, they receive a small fraction of their patron's strength and wisdom in exchange for their service. For those who have gained their title by lineage, they are famed for having strong representation of their Traveler parents' appearance blended heavily against the palette of their lesser tribes ancestry, and a fiery will when the right cause is found.

Regardless of whether their Dragonkin title comes from their bloodline or their devotion, members of the Dragonkin caste are graced with exceptionally long life when compared to the lesser tribes. Most Dragonkin have a natural lifespan of around a thousand years, though many die at younger ages in service to a cause. Due to the fact that Dragonkin nearly universally have a strong sense of duty and honor to their shared lineage and honor, they take up positions of warriors, guardians, and adventurers in the tradition for their kind.

While they never pass through the rite of a Naming Ceremony which is reserved for Travelers and Travelers alone, most Dragonkin gain ample notoriety in early life which culminates in their being given a powerful name through the lesser tribes' stories, rumors and reverence.

Notable Dragonkin include The Lamplighter and East and West.
